1. It's either that or he's living in a tent on that border.

For more than six months, Dylan, 67, has ignored their complaints and their pleas to remove the outhouse, the downwind neighbors say.

"It's a scandal -- 'Mr. Civil Rights' is killing our civil rights," said David Emminger, whose home is directly behind the toilet -- which is apparently intended for use by employees of the entertainer best known for his 1960s-era protest songs.

Emminger and his wife have installed five industrial-sized fans in their frontyard in an attempt to blow the odor back at Dylan. They say the fans are no match for the ocean breeze that sweeps across the singer's land, however.

Dylan, who has lived in a compound next to Bluewater Road for more than two decades, did not respond to inquiries about the toilet. Neither did his New York-based attorney.

7. How inadequate.
I once threatened neighbors who didn't know when to send a screaming girlfriend home with a pig pen right next to their swimming pool.

A Portapotty is nothing.

9. I am not surprised (real life honest-to-god personal story re: Dylan and poop)
Okay, this was like 35 years ago, but since it involves Dylan and poop, I'll grab the opportunity to tell it (who knew there would ever be a context?)

We used to frequent a sort of community-run dog run in New York City many years ago, on the corner of Houston and Mercer streets (it's NYU apartments now). We dog owners made the rules and we were tough about enforcing them, because our squatters rights were sort of tenous and we didn't want to be driven out. So we kept the place meticulous.

So late one night mr. frazzled and I were letting our Great Dane run loose at the dog run and in comes Bob Dylan with his dog (forget what kind). And the dog runs around and takes a dump and Dylan starts to call him to leave. Um, excuse us, we sez, but you have to scoop your dog's poop before you go. He just looks at us. No really, we said. You have to do it. He just looks at us and leashes up the dog and leaves. And we are pissed and have to clean Mr. Bob Dylan's Dog's poop.

Okay, that's the end of the story. But thinking back to that starry night in Manhattan, I can affirm that Mr. Dylan has no respect for anybody else's rights when it comes to poop.
