Outrages: Ruth Madoff Retreats to Florida
Ruth Madoff is retreating to a $9.4 million beachside redoubt in Florida that the feds will be powerless to seize from her, where she will relax, sun herself, and cackle at her husband's stupid victims.

The Madoffs own many homes, but Ruth recently declared their Palm Beach home to be her primary residence, for the same reason O.J. Simpson moved to Florida after slaughtering his wife and her friend—Florida law protects homes from being seized to pay off creditors or the government. Prosecutors are in the process of seizing the Madoff's $7 million New York City apartment, and they will try to go after the Palm Beach home.

Here's a picture for you. Madoff bought the house in 1994 for $3.8 million in 1994, so it's skyrocketed nearly 150 percent since them. Smart folks.

5. Which house is it? I wonder how she will keep it up also.
I am sure if I lost my life saving with these crooks I would keep at it in court to get it back. I am willing to bet that she will have no peace in this home as she will be hunted by many of these people they took from. I do not feel sorry for her. Her house is worth a lot less than she paid for it if all we read is true.

6. Not exactly true
The fact is that Madoff could easily have this house taken away if it can be shown to have been purchased with ill-gotten gains. In short, you cannot rob a bank in New York, buy a house in Florida and have that house immune from confiscation. OJ, and other scumbags, kept their houses protected from bankruptcy due to Florida's bizarre laws.
