There is no way to put lipstick on this pig--The NEW CONSERVATIVE
DEMOCRATIC GROUP is anything but good news for the party.

Leave it to Evan Bayh.

The very fact that he decided to establish a group only emphaisizes
divisions in the party.

The GOP openly state their agenda is Stop Obama.

We really did not need Democrats doing the same.
There is no reason other than stopping or slowing Obama
for them to form their group.

Thanks for killing hope.

6. L. O'Donnell gave a full discussion on Morning Joe MSNBC
There are 15 Democrats in Senate who joined with Bayh.

This means no legislation can be passed without this group's
approval.

Goodbye Health Care. Hello GOP type tax policy.

3. Dems have a long tradition of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory
the GOP "contract on America" happened in '94 because of all the petty infighting and disorganization in the Democratic party. We had it all for a couple of years when Bill Clinton came into office, then we blew it. The Conservative Dems (Republicans) seem determined to have history repeat itself.

18. Yep. A Tory friend of mine from London once said "You have no Left in
America. You have your conservative party-the Democrats-which are similar to Tories. Then you have your Republicans, which are nothing short of scary".

a formal announcement was made this a.m on Morning Joe.

They call themselves Moderates. They have and continue
to believe Obama is wrong Taxzes, Health Care,. Anything
that can be construed as Liberal, gives them the heeby jeebys

What this means is this 15 control the Senate now. Any legislation
must past muster with them. As a group they can hold out and
force changes they want.

7. ????????
Bayh was on Obama's SHORT LIST for the VP slot. http://www.usnews.com/articles/news/campaign-2008/2008/08/18/will-it-be-an-obama-bayh-ticket.html We even had people here convinced it was him:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x6577283

I think you misunderstand the relationship between Bayh and Obama. Bayh helped to pick out Obama's first judicial nominee for him:

http://blogs.suntimes.com/sweet/2009/03/obama_in_first_judicial_appoin.html

President Obama said, "Judge Hamilton has a long and impressive record of service and a history of handing down fair and judicious decisions. He will be a thoughtful and distinguished addition to the 7th circuit and I am extremely pleased to put him forward to serve the people of Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin."

Hamilton previously was an associate and then partner at the Indianapolis firm of Barnes & Thornburg and served as Counsel to then-Governor Evan Bayh of Indiana. Hamilton served as a member of the Indiana State Recount Commission and as chairman of the Indiana State Ethics Committee.

"I enthusiastically support the Senate confirmation of David Hamilton for U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. Judge Hamilton has served the Southern District of Indiana with distinction as U.S. District Court Judge," U.S. Sen. Dick Lugar said.

"I was proud to work side by side with Senator Lugar to recommend Judge Hamilton for this lifetime appointment," said U.S. Senator Evan Bayh. "President Obama is right that Democrats and Republicans can work together to put highly qualified jurists on the federal bench. Judge Hamilton is an exceptional jurist who has demonstrated the highest ethical standards and a firm commitment to applying our country's laws fairly."

17. Can't watch it here, but these stuff comes and goes. They are just trying their best
to remain relevant to the conversation. In the end, deals will be made and the work will go on. I refuse to get my candies in a bunch over a bunch of blithering old fools.

They just don't want to miss a ride on the trolley, that is all.

of The People. Marginally less extreme republics within the ranks.
