Anyone else tired of Congressional faux outrage at AIG?
Edited on Wed Mar-18-09 10:16 AM by CoffeeCat
After listening to the news this morning, my eyes hurt--because I've been rolling them in disgust.

Can you believe the theatrics being staged by Congress regarding the AIG bonuses? The only thing
missing is craft service and a director yelling, "Cut! I need your brows furled!"

Isn't this the same Congress that handed over a truckload of "no strings" billions--with no stipulations
on how the money should be spent? AIG higher ups could have spent the bailout money on designer cupcakes
if they wanted. There was no rule, no stipulation or no guideline preventing any action.

Why is anyone in the slightest bit surprised, let alone frothing at the mouth?

And by the way--didn't AIG grow to be the "too big to fail" behemoth that it is--because of deregulation
that Republicans and some Democrats handed corporate America---on a silver platter?

Aren't these theatrics just a little bit over the top?

1. Their phony outrage? No I won't
even listen to it anymore. They will give them what they want and we will grab the lube and our ankles.

3.  We need trials and criminal convictions-both corporate heads and politicians.
Duke Cunningham was small change compared to what is being perpetrated.

4. Grassley wants them to commit suicide.
And if one of them did, he'd shat his pants.

5. Meh, it's just the latest fuck up that the congress critters have to pile on
to cover up their bullshit of letting all this happen.

rinse and repeat with yet another "latest outrage" to hit America in a couple of weeks. AIG will get away with this, just like Citibank and BofA before it.

Like I said in another thread, at the end of the day, I'm still going to die at my desk, so what's the point?
