Poll question: As the DU World Turns......Geographic Survey of DUers.
I'm holding it down in the Motor City, in the great blue state of Michigan. Where do you reside? (now, not as in where you are from originally).
And yes I know the geographic groupings aren't perfect (western PA & NY are more 'Great Lakes', a lot of Virginia is the South etc) - but humor me.

Never lived more than five miles from The Pacific Coast Highway... never lived more than 15 miles from the hospital in which I was born... I always figured it was the luck of the draw to be born here, and I never had the urge to leave.

Even Californians see a difference between the north and south within their own state. The NW is without a doubt a different region. Geez, the reality is that the Pacific Northwest isn't a cohesive unit. The coastal and valley (liberal) vs. eastern (conservative) break is striking even if there are pockets of each everywhere.

Took me a couple years each time (I moved to California to adjust to the culture.

I live in the hilltowns of the Berkshires...like you, not more than 30 miles from where I was born except that I did live in Tennessee for a few months back in 1974 and it was OK, but my heart belongs to New England (in general) and Mass (specifically).

I live on the road moving every 3 weeks(have been in all 50 states in the past few years), in Oregon at present, will be in San Jose in two weeks... lived in Vermont for 20 years until this job and just bought a mini farm in Michigan- looking for someone that wants to partner(homestead) while I'm on the road.
