For Ellen Tauscher's Seat (CA-10) think Tom Torlakson as the better replacement

Torlakson was a schoolteacher for years and beat a popular Republican while running as an actual Democrat. In 2000 he ran against a popular and very moderate (an actual moderate) Republican Richard Rainey and Torlakson beat him --an impressive feat.

DeSaulnier is an uninspiring candidate who was a Republican not so long ago

So I'm writing this so that you'll remember. :hi:

On the Republican side, several local officials are considering the race, and Washington insiders are talking up former 49er tight end Brent Jones as a possible candidate."
