Against their own best interest.......Don't blame me Bumperstickers
A timid voiced woman just now wanted to have a price quoted for 100 Bumperstickers:

"Don't blame me, I voted for Bush/Palin"

"You sure that's what you want them to say?"

Yes.

After she has discussed it with her hsbnd, if I get the order,

should I make a proof and get her to sign off on it, hoping she won't catch it?

Or should I be kind, and ask her if she tells me what I would be blaming her for exactly, then I would tell her something important she needs to know.

God Almighty !
Bless us and save us from the Freepers.

1. It's your job to deliver exactly what the customer ordered!

2. Wow...
Clearly, she took the whole "McSame" schtick a little too seriesly!

Or she's not a Freeper, and it's a joke....

7. OH, no joke. She just showed what's in her brain.
I think there's a good probability she would not catch it in signing a proof. 50/50, maybe.
And I'd print those things right away.
And when caught I would say: Gee, I did not catch it. I myself voted for Obama, because McCain was too much like Bush.
:-) :P

9. If they make it through a proof and you end up printing them....
you MUST post the results!

3. The customer is always right! (Just make sure there is *some* documentation -even a recording-
of the specific request for 'Bush/Palin'. Oh, and no refunds.

4. I'd do the proof and have her sign off on it.
In the meanwhile, I understand Spinal Tap is in need of a Stonehenge prop...

5. Give the client what they want, not necessarily what they order. . .
that's been one of my guiding principles in graphics for years. Tempting as it is to let them make a fool of themselves, if you do correct their error (and who knows, Bush/Palin may be what they want) it can only enhance their appraisal of you. Their positive image of you may cause them to one day steer more business your way, customers who could end up being quite progressive.

To cast bread upon the water can be seen as a call to good business sense, in addition to the commonly held belief of its summons to charitable work.

6. Bush/Palin???
Okay, sometimes the most compassionate thing is to let people experience the consequences of their idiocy.

If I were you, I'd point it out to her, though. :)

Politely, of course.

{{{Jeezus fuckin' Christ, that woman is a doormat!!!}}}

8. Hey Kaleko ! Good to "see you". I think she is a normal
Republican woman in these parts.
She is not only a powerless doormat, I suspect, but clueless about what she's asking in the "don't blame me" part.

11. I think you would be kind
by not bringing it up again. You should however get an order confirmation. After all, it hasn't been that long since the election and I'm sure she would remember who she voted for.

12. Get that order in writing!
Otherwise she'll shriek on delivery that you've made a hideous mistake and she won't pay for them, no sir!

You won't get them back either.
