Magic Jack.

The name is creepy.

$19.95 a year for unlimited phone service.

Endless commercials on every cable channel.

It all makes me VERY suspicious.

1. Sure, you can have unlimited access to my computer, Mr. Jack.
I'm sure you won't do anything harmful.

2. This is why you get a DVR! That way you don't have to see any commercials.

And if you have a tuner and media center on your computer you don't even have to pay extra.

3. My boss bought one because he's cheap.
It is unusable. Not only does it take over your computer, but the calls drop out for a second about once every 15 seconds. It has all the problems of a cell phone from 1985 multiplied by about 100. Worst product I've ever used.

After I determined that it was a piece of crap I googled about it and apparently it's nearly impossible to get your money back. Not surprising.
