and ask him to drop his vendetta against Keith Olbermann. Sommersby was a Hillary Clinton supporter and has had it in for Olbermann since last year. The Daily Howler was once a great website exposing right-wing misinformation in the mainstream media, but of late it seems more consumed with beating up on Olbermann. Most the criticizms are for segments on Countdown that Olbermann himself admits are meant to be comic or satiric. 8. The point is there are a lot worse offenders than Olbermann

who Somerby could be spending his time on. Yet he continues to bash Olbermann (who admits that a lot of what he does is meant to be comedic, satirical and silly) as well as Rachel Maddow. Today's column is an example. He goes after Olbermann for a segment with the creator of the Family Guy. Obviously that segment was meant to be silly and humorous as the final segment of Countdown usually is but Somerby either is so blinded by his hatred of Olbermann or purposely pretends he doesn't get so he can take a whack at Olbermann.
The Daily Howler use to be a must read but Somerby's obsession with Olbermann is destroying that. And despite what anyone personally thinks of Olbermann they would have to admit that there are much better targets out there for his ire. Morning Joe immediately comes to mind.

Somerby's NEVER had anything good to say about Olbermann. He tends to speak of him in the form of rhetorical questions that are always along the lines of "Could Keith Olbermann possibly BE more useless?"

I suspect they're driven by petty jealousy that Somerby, despite being part of the acknowledged American elite what with being an ex-college roomie of Al Gore and all, doesn't have his own TV show and make millions of dollars a year puncturing holes in conservatives like Keith does, but has to be content with a mere blog.

I suspect telling him to lay off would be pointless, though. Especially if one insisted on calling him "Sommersby."
