Can someone tell me about the Republican plan for fixing this banking crisis?
Edited on Sat Mar-21-09 11:23 PM by kentuck
Since they played a major role in creating the present crisis, I am sure they have some ideas of how to fix it? Right?

So they want to cut taxes again? How would that help? They don't have a plan, do they?

Well, they do have one plan. That plan is to obstruct and to block whatever ideas the White House might come up with. Their desire to get back in power overrides any concern for the country. There is a time for "bi-partisanship" but this is not the time, the Republicans say.

Contrary to popular belief, it is easy to criticize. Although you poured down the gasoline and your President lit the match, you can still complain that the driver of the truck took too much time getting to the raging fire...

3. Republican plan, in detail
1) Do the rich have all the money yet?

2) Do private corporations and/or churches control everything yet?

If the answer to either of these questions is "no", cut taxes for the rich.

Repeat until the answer to both questions is "yes".

6. Hey Kentuck

Good to see around these parts.

Remember back in the bad old days here at DU when there were only a few thousand posters and how we ranted and raved over the absolute dominance the Rebubs exerted over us ? Remember all the good ideas we had about how a smart and compassionate government would look ?

We knew then that the neocons didn't have a clue how to govern. Our one and only goal was to get our country back.

Well, take a look around. We control all branches of government, and we have people STILL giving these asses credibility. The only plan they had then and now was/is to steal as much money as possible then run hide until it was safe to come out and repeat the same theft.

I don't think any man is perfect and we all make mistakes, but we got lucky and got a guy whose smarter than all of us and represents every idea we ever put forth. Yet...I see posts and read editorials that reflect, for lack of a better term, " battered wife" syndrome.

The republican plan has run it's cycle. The banks been looted and the only people left are the dupes and apologist. Frank & Jesse James along with the Younger gang are kicked back at the ranch hatching the next plan.

:hi:

I'm sure the media will ask them everyday, "where is your plan?" Right?

12. They want America to be run like "pro" wrestling
They have a referee but he don't enforce the rules.

Better yet they don't even want a referee in case he hinders their rape of America.

15. Addition Through Subtraction...
Their "logic" is that history will be on their side in 2010, and it may well be. No party has won as many seats as the Democrats have in the past two election cycles and 2010 stands as a chance for them to start making their comeback...or so they think.

Think of the rushpublicans as addicts who still haven't left the denial stage. They're still going through the withdrawls of having power and still haven't hit bottom...still having their habit fed by Rushbo and the other ideologues. There doesn't have to be a plan, just like there doesn't have to be a cure...as these addicts still don't beieve they have a problem. They still haven't hit bottom.

The only hope is for President Obama to fail...these asshats have always been short-sighted. Someone said that the problem with rushpublicans is they know how to run elections, but they can't govern. The messes we're in are the consequences of that saying...and many Americans will not quickly forget both the party and the people responsible. The GOOps only hope are to try to tar their failures onto President Obama. Should he succede, they're screwed for a geneation or more.

16. Fortunately we don't have to worry about that!
Republicans control none of the three branches of federal government. A rnadom R governor may reject part of the bailout but that's the most that party has in the process. It's all about the Democrats, baby! I for one am glad they've rolled up their sleeves and have been working on this.

Now please just give Geithner some staff to help him. He can't do all this by himself!
