"Populism is never pretty." --George Will, 3/22/09
That was Will's opening brain fart on This Week as he launched into his prepared remarks disguised as spontaneously answering a question. Just thought I'd make sure everyone had a chance to appreciate that little bit of wisdom from America's Favorite Conserva-dweeb.

1. Will thinks corruption, dictatorship, and torture are ..

..."prettier" than populism, I'm sure.

2. Of course.
There's is nothing people like Will fear more than an angry mob of poor people.

3. Will thinks populism is not pretty because populism challenges the
authoritarian institutions which repress the citizenry.

It's likely highly disturbing to someone like George Will that the common folk would insist on dignity and economic justice.

7. Would that be a purebred Norway Rat rat's ass or just some mongrel
rat's ass? I am very particular about the sort of rat's ass one refuses to give.

8. Well, if it's populism to live in fear all the time, of course it's not pretty.

10. George Will puts the "pus" in pusillanimous.
Where does the right find these persnickety pundits?

Kristol. Will. Krauthammer.
