GOP chief Steele: ‘We lost our minds’ -- The Great GOP Meltdown of '09 goes on

LITTLETON, Colo. - Republicans better stop whining and start thinking of new electoral strategies to return to prominence, the new head of the Republican National Committee said Friday.

"I’m tired of seeing the same old, same old," RNC Chairman Michael Steele told about 750 Republicans at a party dinner in suburban Denver. "I’m tired of hearing the same old arguments. I’m tired of hearing the complaining."

Steele, who took the helm of the GOP at the beginning of the year, said Republicans must stop complaining about ruling Democrats if they are to recover with voters.

"If you want to complain and moan and groan about everything going on," Steele said, "there’s the door."

1. hehehe
wonder how many will take him up on the offer. they are so fractured and so close to meaningless, if it wasn't for MSM they'd be as relevant as any other marginal party.

3. Rush will probably drive the wedge deeper Monday and tell Steele that he should find the door.
The GOP is just bankrupt, plain and simple, in every means necessary to effectively run a nation.

5. Steele had better watch his back (and Fox)
Edited on Sun Mar-22-09 01:08 PM by DFW
When Fox shows him with the subtitle "DNC Chairman" you'll know he's in REAL disfavor.
If he keeps up with his feints at realism and his "we've got to change" routine, he'll
either be forced to become a Democrat or book a one-way trip on a small airplane (for
some in the Republican Party, it might be assumed there is no difference).

11. HAHAHAHA!!! Whatching the GOP implode is fucking hilarious.

The fight between the Steele-Gingrich (the only sane faction), Rush, Ron Paul, and Palin factions within the GOP is going to end with a train wreck. Works for me!

This is the most spectacular political train wreck I've ever seen in my whole life.

14. That's exactly what makes it so fun to watch.
My Republican friend at work is considering re-joining the Natural Law party.

That's how bad it is.

20. Steele may not be as funny as it seems......
"I’m tired of seeing the same old, same old,"

"If you want to complain and moan and groan about everything going on," Steele said, "there’s the door."

If the GOP actually starts to listen to this guy, it may not be quite as funny for Dems as you think.
The GOP already have every advantage in the book. They have big money corporate givers and spenders, they have a very compliant media (ready to positively spin their every word), they have an echo chamber to spread their message wide and often.

The only thing they don't have are policies that would benefit the average American. Democrats have policies that benefit average Americans, and still have the toughest of winning office and even implementing these policies after gaining office.

Steele is attempting to fashion himself after Barack Obama. To be plain spoken, down to earth, to communicate with people on their level.

In short he is trying to get the GOP to shape itself and policies to "appear" as if targeted to average Americans.

These people are only about PR and can be very successful disguising themselves and their policies as main stream.

After all, whose going to expose them? The MSM??

If Steele is successful in convincing the nuts to stay in the background and tone down the insanity a bit.

It could be bad news for easily fooled and complacent Dems.
