. . . carrying coffins

Anti-war activists carry mock coffins draped with American and foreign flags as they march through the Hollywood area of Los Angeles protesting against the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan on Saturday, March 21, 2009, the sixth anniversary of the start of the war in Iraq.

1. They all died for a good cause..just ask the politicians and generals.
They make killing seem so glorious and noble.

4. a great deal of that 'cause' is dictated to mostly willing troops
However, each of them will have their own unique experience in Iraq and Afghanistan. As much as I'm opposed to most aspects of the mission dictated by their superiors, I wouldn't assume that these troops didn't die for a 'good cause'.

7. What would that cause be?
God? Country? Mom?

They were cannon-fodder for the politicians and generals to shed crocodile tears over and "remember" when ginning up the next slaughter.

8. I'm talking about their individual actions
. . . which may well be commendable, even within their objectionable mission.

2. I don't get your point in juxtaposing those two pictures
unless it's that the protesters in the pic on the left forgot about all the Canadian troops lost fighting America's war in Afghanistan?

3. I don't think there's anything sinister.
It's two pictures showing people carrying coffins.

Something that's been kept a secret from us for the last 8 years.

10. Wait a minute.
You mean actual people are actually dying in these wars?

Looking at just those two pictures makes me mad enough to punch Dick Cheney in the dick.
