I mean, after all, most gay people are stylish, hot and cool, so why would you ever want to call something gay in the pejorative?

There are a lot more weird funny looking str8 people than there are gays.

"OMG! THAT'S SO STR8!"

1. The old "two wrongs make a right" approach?
IMO, it never works.

The gay insult, IIRC, is to refer to straight people as "breeders"--even when they don't have kids, don't want kids, don't intend to have kids....or can't have kids.

It's all lame. Two wrongs never make a right.

3. "Two wrongs never make a right." THAT'S SO STR8!

I don't know, it looks like two wrongs make a right to my mind!

You don't get it, it's not the same kind of insult to call someone a breeder. It's not a usage that turns a sexual orientation into a pejorative term. I'm doing it to perhaps show people that it's a weird thing to say.

5. No, I'm afraid YOU don't get it. Making fun of someone because of their orientation is wrong.
You don't teach people not to commit murder by killing someone, now, do you?

I realize you're trying to be "ironic," but you're coming across as petulant, instead.

Sorry. That's just my read on the situation.

2. "most gay people are stylish, hot and cool"
Do you have a link to some definitive research showing this?

Most people are people. They come in wide varieties.

4. Gay men know what gay men want and work to get themselves in line with that...

to a certain degree, and it has been an observation of my community that it's filled with more than its fair share of people with good taste, in good shape, with good looks facially.

I know it's not always true, as I'm an exception to the rule, but generally most gay men look better throughout their lives than their str8 counterparts. Sorry, but when you can look in the mirror and see something you like, it's more rewarding than a str8 guy doing that.

8. Have you met or interviewed "most gay men"?
You are informed by an extremely small sample and thus you are reinforcing stereotypes.

That's no way to go about things.

9. And counterbalanced it with some old reruns of "Roseanne."
All gays are hot and cool (aren't those mutually exclusive?).

All straights are ugly, out-of-shape and square.

I guess in someone's imagined universe, maybe...
