Doing my part.
In the last eight months or so I have decided to do my part for the country and for me. It started like this: I get my news from the internet not MSM so I saw this crisis coming. I told my wife to pay off all her credit card debt and I paid off mine, which between us added up to about $4000.00 dollars. I then sold my little sports car, a Subaru STI, which I loved by the way and bought a Honda Fit. I saved myself 9,000 in debt by getting rid of the STI and getting the Fit and lowered my payments from $400.00 a month to $200.00 a month and cut my insurance rate by at least $150.00 a month. I then started to put as much of my income into savings as possible. I have only bought things that were necessary since last September and have been able to save $8200.00 dollars since then. I can not do anything about federal taxes so I will just pay what I have to pay. At least hopefully my tax dollars will be going to better use since we got OBAMA in the Whitehouse.

What I have decided that I can do is protect my interests from theirs ( Corporate Greed America). I am working on paying my house off in the next four years as well as both of our cars. While I can not do anything about taxes I can do something about interest. I will pay off both cars and the house four years short of thier loan dates which will save me in interest. I will pay a little more in tax due to the fact that I will not be getting the tax break for my home interest but I will not be contributing to the assholes whose livelyhood is interest. After that I will pay $0 in interest ever again if I can possibly help it. I will continue to save and continue to pursue my new life as a non-consumer of products that I can not pay cash for. I have become a minimalist and thankfully my wife is of the same mind. We will exist, eat well and never give the people whose only interest in us is in our money, the fuel that feeds them any more than we have to. Since I live in Alabama, I will when possible buy online anything that I can when shipping will not be more than local sales tax in order to be able to buy from companies in Blue States as I do not want any of my money going to the State of Alabama or the city where I live due to the overwhemling ignorance of the majority of the people I have to co-exist with. It just makes me feel a lot better about myself.

1. That's very good. You're lucky to have been able to do that.
There are people who cannot do that tho, for reasons beyond their control.

Unless one is in a somewhat advantageous situation I think it was easier to save in difficult times back when people could move in together. Lots of people did that during the first Great Depression. That was before the suburbia cancer was forced on our country by corporate interests. Now it's almost impossible to have people moving together, as they're all dispersed all over the place.
