March 25 (Bloomberg) -- Purchases of new homes in the U.S. unexpectedly rose in February from a record low as plummeting prices and cheaper mortgage rates lured some buyers.

1. Because he and his buddies have worked their asses off
to ensure that the economic news would be bad.

5. Obama has already accomplished something. More people today feel confident about the future than
they did in the last years of Bush.

6. Both of those events are utterly meaningless
Stocks rose based on emotional sensationalism and not a single concrete indicator. OMG the government has a plan, stocks shoot up 500 points, gains which will be erased no doubt over the next two weeks as the uncompromising forces of reality do their work.

Yay some people buy fractionally more houses then predicted. But in other less reported news, house prices CONTINUED TO FALL and the number of houses being foreclosed on or sold ROSE AGAIN.

The M$M reports on the market like a fucking child hoping for his special toy on christmas day. OMG maybe we can make this sound optimistic and then people will FEEL more optimistic and then everything will be okay, wait... more ACTUAL bad news from the reality based world out that - dammit! SELL!
