I'm on the top of the world!
I just made a 99 on my Native American Law class three part midterm essay test. DO I know my Marshall trilogy or what?

3. Thanks
I had not done as well as I had hoped in the Constitutional Law midterm but when I got this test back today I was stoked.

8. Nobody does well on Con Law exams -
they're so damn subjective, you can't really nail it unless you know -and you know cold - the teacher's positions on the issues. Then you have to go counter, just because they love that.

I gotta tell you, you're going to learn all the law you need to get started in your Bar Review course. You'll wonder why you ever went to law school, but the experience does a great job of synthesizing and crystallizing everything you studied.

So, again, congratulations, and keep it going ............................

but you're right. I had the information cold. I knew the cases inside out but I didn't cite enough cases in my essays. I knew them but for some reason didn't use enough of them. There are only 3 tests and each are worth 25% each. The other 25% comes from participation, he teaches using that Socratic method. I participate everyday, even when not called on. My grade was a 75 and with my participation it should go up much more.

5. LOL and I'm old
Edited on Fri Mar-27-09 12:18 AM by MichaelHarris
everyone around me at WSU is so young. Most everyone I've met there has made me feel right at home. I had almost finished college about 20 years ago but with my wife in medical school my education took a back seat.

11. Oh, I bet you are very good
You know the one thing that changed my photography over night was learning depth of field. On a camera's lens you can open the aperture or F-Stop to let in more light or you can close it down to let in less. One of the things people miss with aperture settings is what's called depth of field. Grab a camera, three bottles or glasses. Put them in a row on the table, open the aperture wide open, say f2 or the smallest number on the lens. Focus on the middle bottle or glass. Notice how the one in front and the one behind has a nice out of focus area while the one in the middle is sharp. Now take the same shot and close the lens down, say f22. You'll need a lot more light but this this when you focus on the middle item and take the shot you'll see that everything is in sharp focus.

Where these two things work are in portraits and landscapes. In portraits shoot the lens wide open for those beautiful background out of focus areas. And for landscapes close it down for the sharp foreground and sharp backgrounds. Every lens has a sweet spot, when you find it images start to really pop. Also longer lenses enhance this effect much more. Shoot facial portraits with a long lens wide open. You will be amazed.

7. I can see
Russia from Palin's college, well one of them. The University of Idaho is nine miles away so by default I can see the Kremlin.

6. That's terrific!!!
Three parts? That's work. A 99 is pretty amazing. Essay or multiple choice?

My highest grade in law school was a 98, in Corporate Tax, of all things. I never lived that down with my classmates...............

10. All essay questions
it's undergraduate law classes but pretty interesting. I only had electives left for my degree and while I could have taken advanced floral arrangement I chose law classes. Not that floral arrangement is bad, I just didn't need that much challenge in my life.

15. I'm sorry .......
I still don't know how that happened.

That course was so awful, so boring, so unbearable, we all went through it like a coma we had to endure.

I still laugh when I think of the day the teacher, in a naked moment of despair, said, in a strained voice, "Doesn't anyone have any questions?"

And my friend, Bob, who, with his wife, was decorating a house on Capitol Hill (I wonder what that's worth today), raised his hand, and said, "Yeah. Can you tell me when my carpeting is going to be delivered?"
