Celtic Diva is being stalked by Fox News and Team Sarah re her Arctic Cat ethics complaint

FAUX NEWS GOES CITIZEN HUNTING

Yesterday, a Fox News crew from the Lower-48 called me about my ethics complaint, told me they were going to be in town and wanted an interview. I thought about it but finally decided there was no way an interview with them would end well for a number of reasons:

1) Why are they suddenly here? Yes, there have been two complaints filed within seven days (one by Andree McLeod) but this is just one more ethics complaint.

2) Is it just a coincidence that one of Palin's close advisors is Sarah (or Todd?) fan, Greta Van Sustern's hubby? Did a cry go out from the wilderness for aid and comfort?

The news crew decided that since several of us refused to be on camera, they were going to "ambush" us. Good luck finding me after my recent move!!!!!

HATE MAIL AND TEAM SARAH

Then there is Team Sarah's vitriolic response to this ethics complaint. If you remember, Amanda Coyne of The Alaska Dispatch ran a piece about Team Sarah's bloodlust. That, combined with several articles in Huffington Post that pointed out racism in the ranks, Team Sarah and several enabling Conservative bloggers claimed it was ALL done by "Liberals who were trying to make them look bad."

Uhhh Huh...

When hate email started rolling into my inbox, I needed only look to one of the many posts on Team Sarah calling for my head to find contributors to that onslaught:

Reply by Douglas Timbie
Is there a lawyer in the group? Can the frivolous charge-filers Andree McLeod, Zane Henning, Linda Kellen Biegel etc. be given a dose of their own medicine with counter law suits seeking restitution for harrassment. Doesn't Alaska have laws to reimburse the governor when these suits are found to be without merit.

If not, can we get pictures of these locusts, email addresses, and the home addresses, place of work, with maps distributed so these people can be given the Acorn AIG treatment. We should be very pleasant and non-threatening, but flood their emails with thousands of complaints...

Here's a sampling of the hate mails I've gotten, the majority of which were anything but "pleasant":

--Give it up fat girl!

--LOL! I read the article of some dumb ass blogger filing charges against the lovely Gov Palin, again, and I thought to myself, gotta be an ugly fat bitch filing the complaint. I WAS RIGHT. You are an ugly fat bitch. Only kinda of man that would "tap" your ugly ass is a, well, a n**ger! Go Obama, lol!

--YOU'RE A FAT UGLY-F**K WHO COULDN'T GET LAID IF SHE PRAYED FOR IT.

<and many more>

These people are poison -- and surely Sarah is cheering them on.

1. I'm sure you're right... I'm sure Sarah is cheering them on...
Just like she smiled at the people (using the term loosely) who shouted death threats about Obama during the campaign. She has no sense, and no class whatsoever.

These are the kind of Freepers, Bush's 23%, the brainless few, who now make up 90% of the GOP. That's gotta hurt:)

2. I hope she's got a gun...
These Palinoid bullies tend to be rather cowardly when they realize their prey is capable of shooting back.

3. Oh, brother. What vile whackos.
I remember some Repuke legislator speaking awhile back about anonymity on the net. Ironically, this Repuke pointed out that people wouldn't write half the things they do online if they were required to expose their identities.

6. Linda has always been NON-anonymous, to her credit.
On the other hand, AKMuckraker at The Mudflats, who HAS been anonymous, has just been outed by state Rep. Mike Doogan, a Democrat, because he got peeved about a post she wrote about him a couple months ago. http://www.themudflats.net/2009/03/27/in-exposing-the-identity-of-mudflats-rep-mike-doogan-exposes-himself/ I'm stunned that he would take this action, knowing that the wackos are out there, figuratively at least, gunning for the bloggers critical of Queen Sarah. AKM won the Bloggers Choice award last year for best political blog. I hope she stays safe and can continue her wonderful site.

17. I just read the blog, Blue -- excellent, btw.
She's a good writer, speaking from the heart (& a good one).

It said in my “About” page that I choose to remain anonymous. I didn’t tell anyone why. I might be a state employee. I might not want my children to get grief at school. I might be fleeing from an ex-partner who was abusive and would rather he not know where I am. My family might not want to talk to me anymore. I might alienate my best friend. Maybe I don’t feel like having a brick thrown through my window. My spouse might work for the Palin administration. Maybe I’d just rather people not know where I live or where I work. Or none of those things may be true. None of my readers, nor Mike Doogan had any idea what my personal circumstances might be. But that didn’t seem to matter.

What appears to matter to Rep. Doogan is that either 1) he feels that if he “outs” me, he’ll change what I have to say, or keep me from saying anything. 2) he gets to play mystery detective (like in his books) and believes people will think he’s really cool for figuring it out, or 3) he feels like getting revenge. He knows I want to remain anonymous, so he’s going to take it away. In any of those three scenarios, he didn’t think it was important to get the bigger picture.

I totally agreed with what she said, & what Rep. Doogan did was below the belt & petty. I'm all for anonymity online as long as it stays online & doesn't develop into stalking, ruining people's lives, or other dangerous behavior. That behavior doesn't apply to a private citizen's criticism of a public servant.

I've added Mudflats to my favorites; I do like her style.

4. Everyone has different thresholds for this sort of thing
And I don’t rightly know how I would react to being spotlighted like this. But it occurs to me that I might consider taking every vitriolic attack e-mail and forwarding it on Governor Palin’s office with a cheery note like “Just thought you’d like to know what your supporters are up to!” And I’d copy each one to the Alaska Secretary of State or Lieutenant Governor, the Speaker of the state House, the Senate Majority Leader, and the editors of the Anchorage Daily News and the Juneau paper.

I would make sure that all the recipients know who I am, and without whining or complaining, just forward the e-mails. Then let things take their course.

9. I like this part:
"The news crew decided that since several of us refused to be on camera, they were going to "ambush" us. Good luck finding me after my recent move!!!!!"

 I can only imagine...She could be in a camouflaged trailer behind a duck blind in some area accessible only by plane and then dog sled. She could be in some old trapper's cabin! She could be in a hotel in downtown Anchorage but make them THINK she's in a trailer or cabin somewhere in the beautiful and vast interior...or in Juneau...or in Fairbanks...

Alaska's so huge that Fox News crews wouldn't even know where to start!

10. Ugh
These ppl are nothing so much as the anti-christ's minions:

"I know Palin scares you!! She is a threat to you! So I've been thinking about ways of helping Gov Palin and hurting losers like you!
Today I realized what I could do :).

There's a redhead that works for our company...she's not fat like you, but she's a lib. We are downsizing because of the loser you help elect...so I let her go! The best part is that I will donate her salary to Sarah Palin PAC...IN YOUR NAME!!!!!! :))))) That's $1,500.00 a week!

aahhhhhh....that feels better"

Being stalked and harassed for speaking the truth.... These ppl are vile.

18. Okay, let me get this straight...
They've got to downsize because of President Obama, which means in reality that their sales have gone to shit because thanks to AIG there ain't no money in the world, but they can afford to send $6000/month to Sarah Palin's legal defense fund. Uhh...yeah.

Since when is taking somebody off guard knowing that they won't talk to you, and then calling them cowards for not talking to you journalism?

Those O'Reilly / Hannity / Van Susteren / etc. attack dogs are nuttier than nutty can be.
