Of course I wasn't home, but they left a # for me to call back and file the complaint. Took them long enough! But I haven't recvd calls in a while. Are you guys still getting those car insurance calls?

1. Just received my first one today!
Got 2 different calls, and I hung up immediately. I believe the first one WAS car insurance.

2. Yeah. And they keep calling my cell phone!!
I don't even have a car. I was complaining about that shit to my sister. They call my sis too, but she has one...but she's with Geico. Not to mention there's these weird 1-866/1-877/Out of Area calls that we keep having call and when we pick up they hang up.

Added to that have you gotten these refinance your credit card rate call people. I get that on my cell phone and my house phone. What can we do?!

5. Thanks. It's something we've noticed lately and they don't go away.
What do I do with that later? I need to block these numbers from calling me.

7. On the link I posted if you skim down the thread the phone #'s are there to call and register your #
on do not call and # to call FCC to lodge complaint, then they call you back as they did me today to actually file complaint. But you must recv call after registering # with do not call list.

9. I think I did register when we changed over to our TimeWarner phone line.

I remember specifically telling the guy we don't want to be on any call lists. If I'm not, what is the number for registering on "do not call list"?

11. I had one caller tell me recently that they couldn't be held to the law
because they didn't buy the list! I kid you not. They claimed ignorance of following the law because they didn't buy the list.

I had another call a few weeks ago from someone trying to start a small business buy cold calling numbers from some list that they bought or just from the phone book ... she claimed from both sources. I spent way too much time on the phone explaining the law and just how she was violating it by calling me. I do believe she was actually as ignorant as she pretended to be. It was very frustrating to hear her going round and round and round because she didn't realize that cold calling someone on the DNC list was a violation of federal law. I wished her luck not being prosecuted for this practice and luck starting her business (fat chance that was going to go anywhere anyway) and got off the phone.

16. My cell phone was receiving these calls for a while and they abruptly stopped.
The area codes were 256 and 000. We were getting them on our land line during the day, but we set the fax machine to pick up on the 2nd ring. We did this for a few weeks and the calls stopped.
