Have you written the President yet?
---

I let him know that with his giggling at a serious drug law issue, his not initially inviting single-payer advocates to the health summit table, and his planned escalation in Afghanistan using private corporate mercenaries, that he is losing my support rapidly.

1. thanks for reminding me to write him expressing my support
for him. I don't agree with him on several issues and I'll let him know that as well, but I damn well do support him.

4. who are you? a voter, a huge corporate donor, a party big wig...A voter- screw off
I just keep telling myself that he's better than McCain EVER would have been.

We still need to work hard to change things within our own house and lives. I think we should marginalize the government. Try to kick them out of as many aspects of our personal lives as we can.

Marijuana's not legal..... hide your stash and continue to feed the black market with a huge profit motive.
Tax codes aren't fair.....hide your income and possessions.
Patriot Act still in place.....learn to hide your communications.
War's are going on.....keep your loved ones OUT OF THE MILITARY.
No healthcare plans.....make friends in Canada.

YOU are responsible for yourself and your loved ones. The government will never save you.

6. When will Greens build their own party
There's never been a better time for Greens to rise up on the left and push for their platform by ATTACKING REPUBLICANS so they don't damage the only hope for any sort of progress at all.

2 million acres of wilderness. approved California clean air waiver. signed equal pay legislation. global gag rule. stem cell research. lifted the SCHIP income limits put in by bush. initiated a policy to close Guantanamo. biggest liberal spending bill ever. real tax cuts for real people.

Honestly, it's ridiculous to be upset about issues he never ran on in the first place and that no Democratic President would implement.

10. Only once.
The day before election day, I wrote a letter of congratulations and sent it off, along with a book on ed policy that I hoped he'd take into consideration when forming ed policy.

It was returned to me, with the letter unopened. With a letter from an aide explaining that they don't accept "gifts."

It wasn't a gift. It was a bound set of philosophy, research, and ideas about teaching.

I haven't tried since. I HAVE considered cutting the pages out of the binding, and sending them a few at a time.

It seems a little late, though, since his choice of Duncan and early propositions for education are in direct contradiction.

11. I emailed once about healthcare, but I'm gearing up to write
a regular letter and maybe fax it. The thought being he might actually get the paper in hand.
