Nothing good (and certainly nothing liberal) about trying to kill organic farming for the benefit of criminals who want to mutate every last seed on the planet.

Opposition to HR 875 being astroturfed by Ron Paul's Campaign for Liberty (libertarian group that wants ZERO regulation on corporations like Monsanto)

Congressional Progressive Caucus
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
The Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) is the single largest partisan caucus in the United States House of Representatives, and works together to advance progressive issues and positions.

The CPC was founded in 1991 by the independent Congressman Bernie Sanders of Vermont, who remains a member as Senator. It represents about a third of the House Democratic Caucus (with 71 members). Of the twenty standing committees of the House, eleven are chaired by members of the CPC.
Ideology
According to their website, the CPC advocates "universal access to affordable, high quality healthcare," fair trade agreements, living wage laws, the right of all workers to organize into labor unions and engage in strike actions and collective bargaining, the abolition of significant portions of the USA PATRIOT Act, the legalization of gay marriage, strict campaign finance reform laws, a complete pullout from the war in Iraq, a crackdown on free trade and corporate welfare, an increase in income tax on the wealthy, tax cuts for the poor, and an increase in social welfare spending by the federal government.

Edited on Sat Mar-28-09 01:04 PM by mvd
Sometimes the straight ratings don't tell the whole story - for example, I do think Obama is a liberal that's governing in a moderate's clothing, but not sure he was the most liberal.

why on earth would we believe a conservative rag with an agenda? When Kerry ran, NJ said he was the most liberal. Hell, had Evan Bayh been the dem candidate, no doubt he would have been the most liberal.

I believe you automatically become the most liberal person on the planet when you run for election against a rethug that has a chance. At least that's what their ads always say.
