1. I thought it was going OK until drunk Christopher Hitchens showed up
And pretty much took all the spirit out of the discussion.

2. Hitchens was inconsequential last night. Mos Def dominated the chat,

though I had a difficult time understanding him. He cut off Rushdie way too often. Bill seemed frustrated that he couldn't control the show.

I don't think Bill's format of having two guests then bringing in a third with 20 minutes left in the show is working.

9. Mos Def needed subtitles
Funny that a non native English speaker like Salman Rushdie was so much easier to understand. What I did understand shows he's got a quick wit and knows what's really going on in the world.

Hitchens was wrong but inoffensive. He does actually look a bit better these days.

3. I thought exactly the opposite
Mos Def was extremely annoying, and Rushdie contributed little to nothing.

6. I didn't say Mos Def wasn't annoying, and Rushdie wasn't allowed to
contribute much as he kept getting cut off.

As I've often said, it's amazing that every guest on Real Time comes off as being rushed and unable to say anything of consequence in an hour-long show that is not formatted on sound bites. I think that's because Bill just doesn't do a good job as a moderator.

12. Mos Def can't express himself in english but Russell Simmons lets him on his Poetry show.

PS - Def can't act either. You can tell most of his lines were cut from the Italian Job.

8. Average at best. Mos Def got on my nerves quite a bit.
After last weeks show, which I thought was possibly the best "Real Time" I've seen, this one was a disappointment as a followup.

10. Other--What happened last night to make you create this poll?
I don't watch television directly, having decided if it is really good I can find it on youtube or via bit torrents (LOVE the BBC programming from there). So what did Maher or his guests do?

11. They ALL sounded stupid, drunk, or both ( when intelligible) on the show last night.
A train-wreck of a show.

13. It would have been better if Mos Def would have shut up for one freaking second.
