1. FPL, our crooks here in Florida should be pleased with this. I
hope their heads explode. I only wish it were for a few hours...

2. The teenager working the 7-Eleven asked if I knew about it
He might have seen the FL Dept of Environmental Protection ball cap I was wearing (former employee). It was kind of funny because he then quizzed me on when it started. I said 8:30 PM. He then asked when it ended. I said that since it's Earth Hour....probably 9:30 PM. We laughed, and he said that he's shutting down most of the lights at his store tonight. That should be interesting.

4. I didn't see any difference here in London
I live near Primrose Hill, a high spot which provides an excellent view of central London, so I wandered up there shortly before 2030 to watch. Quite a few people had the same idea - we even had some police drive into the park and keep an eye on us, maybe looking for more G20 action. Frankly, I saw no sign of lights going out, and after a while people drifted away, disappointed.

7. We shut off our lights, can we still use other stuff in the dark?
Can I keep my computer on so that I can take in DU?

How about my MP3 player, I gotta have my tunes!

But if they really wanted people to shut off all unnecessary electric use, mandate that they go have sex in the dark between 830 and 930. You don't need lights for that.

But tv will stay on.
Is someone going to remind me to turn "you" people off? ;-)
So NYC and Las Vegas are turning off Broadway marquees and the Strip, respectively? Crazy! And wonderful....

11. It was great. We shut everything down and unplugged everything
in the house. No HVAC coming on, no nothing in our house for about 4 hours.

We went to my parents house and they turned off all the lights (we left the tv on).

I think we need to do something like this once a month, not once a year.
