I don't want to call him names like "he's a big weenie" and stuff, I just do not think he is suited for the job. It needs to be a Rahm type personality and Harry just doesn't have it in him. I think basically, he is a very nice guy but I think that's half the problem.

I also wonder if it can be done, and what it takes to do it. Like you, I don't hate the guy, but he just isn't the right person for the job.

Now on "who", well that's a tough one also, but I have watched senator Dorgan over he years, and I like what I see. He seems to really be working for the "people", and that's what we need. Now there could be things I don't know about him, but from what I have seen my vote would be for him, and no I do not live in his state.

6. At the beginning of each Congress (every 2 years) they vote.

Unless the Majority Leader screws up ethically or otherwise that calls into question their character they keep their position. The only other way there would be a change during that Congress would be their death or resignation.

Therefore, it is pointless to waste time discussing this. I know, I know I am wasting my time educating those that read this but hopefully more members will learn the process.

7. Yes, he can, and...

He can be removed at any tome by a majority vote ( I believe ) of the Democratic caucus, although such a move would be extraordinary, to say the least. Being from Illinois, I'd favor Dick Durbin, the current whip, as his replacement, although I could easily support Russ Feingold and a half dozen others.
