1. I went to Washington during spring break as a kid. Those blossums are so pretty
amidst all the white buildings.

3. me too!
Class trip in Jr. High...1985, yikes

I love the cherry blossoms, though it's hard sometimes to reconcile such beauty with the corruption there...

2. Those are such beautiful trees...
I saw them once, on a trip back, many years ago...

I will never forget how beautiful they were!

Thanks for the link...

6. You're welcome.
I live here (there), and when I was working downtown I walked through them every year at lunch time. Now, I've got to plan an excursion downtown! Which I will do, depending on the weather.

9. Every year,
I used to go over to the Tidal Basin in the afternoon - I worked at 18th and K, NW - and sit around under the trees, reading what I had to read for work.

I am in ten thousand Japanese home videos, I believe.

4. I lived there in 1971 and 1972.
Spring in DC was beautiful despite the situation at the time.

8. Great!
I need to put my corn meal gluten down on my grass when it dries out tomorrow, and Mom's bringing down a busload of senior citizens to see the Cherry Blossoms this week. Thanks!

10. Big rainstorms tomorrow -
mild temps - around 70 - but they're calling for thunderstorms in the afternoon.

This being DC, though, it could just as easily be sunny ................

14. Those babies are right on time,
aren't they?

This means I avoid downtown DC for the next week or ten days.

Every year, I swoon over them. You just can't be blase about the cherry blossoms......................

16. Yes they are;
and I'm hoping to NOT avoid downtown. I spend much too little time there currently, so really want to go! No blase AT ALL, and thats just what I need.

13. I'm gonna celebrate it in Arlington!
I've been traveling the last 2 weeks so for the next few days I'm staying within walking distance of South Arlington!
I'm just glad to walk around my own neighborhood and see all our trees :D it was beautiful going to and from the grocery store while ago.

15. The funnest part is at the end
When you have the "blossom blizzard" swirling around The Mall.
