Is anyone talking about impeaching Michele Bachmann?
The things she's saying fit the definition of sedition quite well, which I believe is an impeachable offense. Why shouldn't she be impeached and removed from the House?

20. Gee, have you had a bit too much coffee, or are you always this obstreperous?
It was an UNINFORMED question, too. Of course, I didn't come right out and say that until you dragged out the old "Fuck You!"

You might want to pick up some skin-thickening creme at "The Internets Store." And do a little research before you ask a silly question...!

23. Yes, it was an uninformed question, and yes, I should have done a little research.
Edited on Sat Mar-28-09 11:41 PM by GaYellowDawg
How about you do a little less sniggering at other people's stupid mistakes? Speaking of, you might want to do a little research before you misuse "obstreperous" again, jerk.

26. Again, you are in error--I didn't misuse the word, and I didn't "snigger."
"Fuck you" is "unruly and aggressive noisiness" (the established definition of the term I employed) on a forum where the rules ask posters to speak civilly. Apparently, from your most recent use of the word "jerk" you haven't bothered to read the rules, either, or if you have, you either choose to ignore them or you have comprehension challenges.

And speaking of phrases that have "fuck" in them, yes, you DID "fuck up" and yes, I noted it.

Like I said, grow a thicker skin.

27. Sob, now my feelings are hurt, although what I posted was exactly true.
Having the actual facts has never hurt the credibility of any post and with the internet it is not difficult to check facts.

21. A lot of schools, apparently, aren't even teaching it anymore.
They're all relying on those "Only a Bill" cartoons, which, while better than nothing, are a poor substitute.

24. I remembered William Blount being impeached from the civics class.
I forgot that congress wasn't considered "civil officers." And it was a long time ago. No need for the superiority complex.

6. There are no 'impeachable offenses'...
Edited on Sat Mar-28-09 10:24 PM by Davis_X_Machina
...for Congresspeople, and if they said something in debate, they can't even be prosecuted for ordinary spoken-word crimes such as libel or defamation. Only Executive branch people, and federal judges, may be impeached by Congress.

The only recourse is at the ballot-box, unless you can persuade a majority -- perhaps a supermajority, I don't have the House rules handy -- to vote to censure and expel.

Which basically never happens.

12. In Florida we could try to Baker Act her - lock her up for up to 72 hours for a mental health exam
Edited on Sat Mar-28-09 10:46 PM by csziggy
"The Baker Act allows for involuntary examination (what some call emergency or involuntary commitment). It can be initiated by judges, law enforcement officials, physicians or mental health professionals. There must be evidence that the person

* a) has a mental illness (as defined in the Baker Act) and
* b) is a harm to self, harm to others, or self neglectful (as defined in the Baker Act)."

Does Minnesota have a similar law?
