President Obama went to Europe as a candidate and received a "rock star" welcome. (remember the spin).
President Obama is making his first trip to Europe as President.
He is going to attend an Economic Summit that is going to deal with very unpleasant and unpopular turns of events on the economic front.
There are often angry (and sometimes violent) demonstrations at these summits, since they are meetings of the rich & super rich deciding policies that do not often yield great benefits for anyone else.
**SPIN WATCH**
Any negative demonstrations will be presented as "a fall from popularity" for President Obama.
That is how CorpoMedia will avoid talking about how angry people are that the banks and financial institutions have circled the wagons for their own self-preservation. Barack will be very vulnerable from this angle, as he has not exactly drawn a bright line on the side of the angels here. And you can be SURE that CorpoMedia, - terrified that ANY of Obama's good (& great) ideas and policies will gain traction - will use this opportunity to hammer him relentlessly.
But that's how the beltway corporate bobble-heads work. Many went for the Obama European vacation last summer and are using the memes of that trip...especially the ones thrown out by the rushpublicans as a "litmus" test on this trip. If he isn't mobbed by crowds...yes, he's the fallen messiah. If he gets large ones, then it's cause he's a "rock star" (Paris Hilton imagine superimposed). The bobble-heads love to play this game...the can concern troll on many levels or project an agenda or new meme.
This was to be expected...the beltway is still adjusting to this new Administration and trying to show whose boss. We're already seeing him get beat up for not fulfilling campaign promises McCain made. Sheesh.
Be assured one meme will the degrees of socialism European countries have and try to tie that to their economic troubles.
