Timothy Geithner and/or Ben Bernanke.

Isn't it obvious we have to do this?

He hints in his most recent book (too honorable to provide the specifics) that he has the idea about how to solve this disaster.

"Ask not what your country can do for you ask what you can do for your country?"

Okay, Professor Krugman, you have been my hero now for nearly seven years.

I own all of your books, and in many cases two or three copies of each of them.

I give your books as gifts.

But enough is enough.

If you know what Obama, Geithner and Company need to do to save the global economy, you need to do your part and stop complaining, pissing and moaning and provide some actual advice that has more depth than "get credit flowing" or "make it big," or that kind of meaninglessness.

Please, help.

1. I believe he HAS done that.
He didn't just say "make it bigger"...he specifically stated that the bill contained too many tax cuts and not enough actual stimulus spending.

Krugman is an economist. Obama is a politician.

Until Obama starts worrying less about what's "politically feasible" and more about what's "economically necessary", things are only going to get worse.

3. Obama said shovel ready projects ONLY.
Ever consider that the infrastructure budget reflected an accurate picture of the number of projects actually ready to go, pronto?

Secondly, you think all the flack he is getting for his current plan makes it politically popular? No, he is doing what is necessary just as you argued.

2. My long-time and deep respect for Mr. Krugman is slowly fading.
He's coming across lately as just a little too full of himself and as my mother often said he "likes the sound of his own voice". I'm disappointed.
