I live in a tiny rural shithole where there's often a problem with the proper use of English. I was actually "corrected" at the store the other day; the cashier told me it was "them" and not "those", as in when I asked if they were going to bag those apples. There are plenty of people here who probably never even heard the word "those" in their lives! Pretty tough to take, considering I'm teh daughter of two English teachers, lol.
