there's no way around the poor.
Growing up poor isn't merely hard on kids. It might also be bad for their brains. A long-term study of cognitive development in lower- and middle-class students found strong links between childhood poverty, physiological stress and adult memory.

Friends, if five years in Title I schools has taught me anything, it's this: poverty will fuck a child up. And fuck Horatio Alger - for every kid who escapes a childhood of poverty to "make it" economically, untold numbers languish with neither legendary hero nor bestselling book to help boost them to the next tax bracket.

Poverty is far more than the lack of money.

2. Indisputably.
You are holding in hour hands the only explanation anyone needs for the data in the Bell Curve. The effects are so profound, and so early, that separated-twin studies are meaningless because the twins share the same prenatal environment and early external environment, and the environmental effects are confounded with supposed genetic factors.
