Toxic assets and toxic thinking...
Arianna Huffington has made this point on several occasions. The toxic thinking is by those like Geithner and Summers who know nothing about the world outside of Wall Street. They believe Wall Street is superior to Main Street. It is OK to bail out the big banks because our economy will collapse without them. But it is not OK to bail out the auto companies because they are not as important. But, if the auto companies go under, they will have a bigger impact on more Americans than if AIG or Goldman Sachs go under. But they are unable to see that side...
