Here's what we're fighting for in Iraq and Afghanistan;
In Iraq: Executions of Gay people.

http://www.ukgaynews.org.uk/Archive/09/Mar/3001.htm

In Afghanistan: The legalization of rape.

http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/world-news/afghanistan-president-signs-law-to-legalise-rape-14249973.html

At the very least, I expect the Administration to speak up against these outrages and pressure the governments of both Iraq and Afghanistan on these issues.

6. There's nothing disingenuous about it. This shit is happening.
And yes, we're fighting for it when we support the governments that perpetrate it. I didn't say this is the reason that Obama is continuing the war in Afghanistan, but it's certainly a side effect of supporting these governments, if the administration doesn't put pressure on them to refrain from this kind of oppression. Now maybe the admin is doing this behind the scenes, but if they are, I think we'd here something about it. In any case, they shouldn't remain silent about such grotesque abuse.

7. grab a clue billyboy. I oppose both wars.
and I've said so. I just don't fall for the kind of dogmatic trotskyite bullshit, you're so enamoured with.

9. Yes, you keep reminding me that you oppose both wars, which is good,
because I haven't seen you say anything against either one lately.

BTW, you don't have to be a trotskyist to speak out against imperialism with a "humanitarian intervention" fig leaf.

But it helps. ;)

Are you reporting from Iraq?

Now back to reality:

Iraqi oil fields: Iraq's proven oil reserves of 112 billion barrels are the world's second largest, behind Saudi Arabia.
