In DC .... things of beauty clearly in evidence

It was a wonderful, lamb-like last day of March. Sunny, high blue sky, and mid sixties. I had a meeting at a federal agency who occupy a building a block or so from the White House and a block or so from the National Mall. I even got a meter spot less than 200 feet from the entrance to the building!

In the lobby, where malevolent pictures of pure evil hung for eight years, was a lovely little portrait gallery, with pictures of these two guys:




And outside, was a panorama much like this



There were tourists all over town. Many were groups of kids, as class trip season is here. I saw lots of them near the west side of the south lawn behind that big house at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, looking for the vegetable patch, but the fact is, they were everywhere.






It was really a beautiful day.

1. Shorts .. . . grrr . . . three more weeks . . .

I won't be there until the 16th of April. I can't wait, but unfortunately all the blossoms will be shed by then :( . I need to get out of this house and somewhere (hopefully) warm. Cleveland STILL doesn't want to warm up. It's usually 65-70 down there that time of year.
