Who exactly are the "powers behind the throne" in 2009?

Who comprises the families, corporate interests, international organizations that play "the game" - manipulate our economies, currencies, wars, assasinations, political machinery etc. behind the scenes?

While I love Octafish's posts, and many others who clearly understand that there's a "group" that is operating supra-nationally, I'd love a clear list of who you think is involved, today.

I'm okay with investigating the historical roots of these groups/people so no worries if someone throws in a group or person who seems pretty whacky. I understand that there are some pretty strange bedfellows on the quest for uber-control. I'm just wondering if we can ID these folks with any degree of authority.

A list if possible. A clear picture of who may be influencing (or controlling?) Barack Obama. World events. Economic power plays.
