Saratoga has updated numbers with no change in margin.

1. That is good show by Murphy, regardless of the outcome.

2. The Albany tv stations are showing it 50-50 also with just over 90% in.
A cliffhanger.

4. There's usually 1000 voters in an electoral district. But, there is an average of 251 voters voting
per ED tonight. If we assume that there's 753 votes left to count, the republican would have to win 502-251 just to tie! 2-1. There are very few ED's so badly skewed outside of NYC.

10. Not sure about the absentees.
I think they count the absentees at the polling site in NY state. I'm pretty sure the absentees are sent to the polling sites to be counted.

12. Absentee ballots used to be received at the county and...
then they were sent out to the ED's for counting with the rest of the votes. Made it easy to call in the ED totals, including absentee, from the polling place.

But, last November my county kept the absentee ballots because there were so many of them and counted them later on. Dunno if there's a reason for the counties to keep the absentee ballots in this election, but they might.

13. That recently changed, I think. The absentee ballots where I worked
last November were counted at the Bd of Elections

11. That's weird
If you take the total results, subtract old Saratoga, and then add what Saratoga has now, you get 49 votes. But now after the update, you get 81 votes. Odd.

9. We don't need the Puke in the new Congress. We want a Dem win here.
Send good vibes for those remaining precincts, everybody.

14. Final count if you include both the first and second link: Murphy +65
Edited on Tue Mar-31-09 09:42 PM by BzaDem
Old Saratoga difference (with 187/188 machines): Tedisco +4394
New Saratoga difference (with 188/188 machines): Tedisco +4410

Net difference: 16 in Tadisco's favor in Saratoga

which brings Murphy's lead in the whole Congressional district from 81 to 65, with all machines counted.
