Who supports the protesters in London?
And why? They are against capitalism and the big banks. Are you against capitalism and the big banks or do you just support protests in general??

3. Global capitalism and big banks have done more than enough damage
to warrant outrage and protests. That being said, I don't see either going anywhere anytime soon. My hope is that the structure and practice will change, will adapt to respect the human toll.

8. only a few are against capitalism
I don't see these protests being different from any others lately, with a range of causes and with the most radical getting the most attention and the whole group being characterized as being that radical.

14. There was a huckster on Rachel Maddow last night who....
Repeatedly referred to the protesters as "anarchist fringe groups," and at one point did so as footage of them was shown as it focused on middle-age to senior citizen individuals ... not exactly appearing very "fringe" to say the least. He then went on to talk up the fear over the recent "terror" attack threats on Washington.

20. That was Richard Engel...
the new "left-wing" Chief Foreign Correspondent of "left-wing" NBC. I don't often watch but I saw the same thing by accident and again today on MSNBC (through the mouths of others). It is a really odd sub-plot that they are pushing. "There are tens of thousands on the street but they don't really hate the new guy... they are in a festive mood" - something along those lines. This morning, I heard something like, "They don't really hate Obama; they just hate capitalism in general."

It seems to be two parts, "the new guy is 'getting over' better than the old guy" and one part, "we expected the world to be angrier at us than this."

It is London, though... the home of funny hats.

28. Gotchya. I thought his name was Matt-something? ...but I'm not a reg watcher of such shows
I just happened to catch a bit of it, and that guy's recurring use of "fringe anarchist groups" made me realize there was a very specific pov being pitched.

32. NO!.. he referred to "a very small percentage" of the protesters.. as
"fringe" and he characterized the vast majority of them as peaceful, issue oriented "regular" people.

17. Many take their cues from our party
And our party has sent a signal that it loves big banks and free market capitalism.

I suppose since back the the day we were ALL against Bush, I failed to notice how little of that opposition was based on true liberals principles. It really has dropped my opinion of a lot of DUers down a few pegs in recent months.

18. I'm Against Capitalism As the Gang of 20 Presents It
What they're doing isn't capitalism: it's cronyism intended to keep money flowing to people who have no interest in working for it.

26. I support most protests
But obviously not all, such as the hypocrite conservative teabag protests. I am not against capitalism, just when it is unregulated, corrupted, and abused. I am very antiwar, and will support what I consider justified protests against wars, invasions, and occupations regardless of who is POTUS at that time.
