The other kids hang around and keep hoping he actually does something because they all hate the jocks and cheerleaders and mean teachers just as much as he does but somehow they know they'll never ruin their own lives by doing anything.

Unfortunately, that's the kid who came to school with a bag full of guns one day and started shooting. Since he couldn't find the jocks, cheerleaders and mean teachers all in one spot, he just shot randomly until the cops arrived and then shot himself.

That's who Beck is at his worst. At his best, he'll just keep mumbling until everybody else realizes he's full of shit and moves on. Then he'll drink himself to death.
