3. Me too ... I really felt sad when he announced today was the last show
He's shown himself to be a real progressive, and I've
gotten a kick out of him holding his RW guests' feet
to the fire.

K&R!

spunk being off of the day cycle bubble head crap.. it helped schuster break out of his mold a bit.

10. I like him although I think h's too good
an investigative journalist to be wasted on afternoon shows. His coverage of Scooter Libby was superb.

7. Aww, I didn't know he was ending it already today.
Anyway, I hope he and Tamron have a great show. I'm glad she's getting more attention too. They need more women and people of color in prominent jobs over at MSNBC. You hardly see Lester Holt anymore since they put him on the weekend anchor gig at NBC and stopped running so many documentaries that he narrated. And you don't see so much of Alison Stewart either, since she became a mom. They need all the diversity they can get. (And no, that is NOT a request to bring back Connie Chung.)

17. Saw her in for KO about a month ago
But she's mostly on some part-time/maternity/off-camera deal. That curly-headed girl still looks like the veejay from MTV to me.

16. Kick
Shuster has the personality of a tree stump, but he also has a good sense of integrity; something that places him head and shoulders above the dipshit they moved up to MTP.

maybe we should do some recruiting and tell his officials that he should do MTP.

30. I thought he looked sad in his announcement last night
I know I was.

David was the beginning of my evening MSNBC staple; although at 7 I'd leave to clean up the kitchen or do other tasks while waiting for Keith at 8 (Mathews is a nerve-grater for me - I can never watch a whole show).

MSNBC has now successfully lured me into daytime viewing, because I will tune in for Shuster. He is not an over-paid, pretty-boy, newsreader-adman, but an intelligent, knows-his-stuff journalist, who can hold people's feet to the fire, when needed.

I hope only for the best for David Shuster.

I enjoyed his '1600 Pennsylvania Avenue' theme song.

31. I hate the way he pulls his lips back when speaking frontal vowels like "ee."
Edited on Fri Apr-03-09 03:04 PM by Occam Bandage
I don't know if it's something he picked up for enunciation during a speech training class or something, but it drives me batty. I liked to listen to the show if I was doing something else, but I couldn't stand to watch him speak. Which is too bad, really. It was a good show.

32. He's not leaving, he's moving. Shuster and Tamron Hall anchoring from 3-5pm

"O'Donnell on Page Six: "That Report Belongs in the Diaper Champ"

We're calling BS on part of a Page Six item from this morning that claimed, because of anchor changes at MSNBC, Washington-based anchor Norah O'Donnell was left out in the cold. An "insider" told the Post:

"And poor Norah. What's she going to do now? She's been crying all night and day. Just out of the blue, they take her show away. Nice, real nice."

O'Donnell responds to TVNewser, "I am disappointed that Richard Johnson didn't call me directly. His report is incorrect. I have three children under two years old. I usually spend my free time changing poopy diapers - and that report belongs in the diaper champ with those diapers. I look forward to my new hour in the mornings!"

The announcement of Ed Schultz taking over at 6pm made mention of anchors David Shuster and Tamron Hall anchoring from 3-5pmET, bumping O'Donnell's 3pm hour. So there will be some shuffling yet to come and we hear an announcement could come as early as next week. Stay tuned."

Though he's got two hours now 3-5 PM, to make up for getting a less advantageous time slot.
