Stupid Lawmaker in Maryland
I do not know if anyone has heard of this, but their is a Maryland state lawmaker who threatened to cut all of the University of Maryland's state funding if they school showed a porn movie. I think it is stupid because their is no reason to take a schools funding just because they are willing to allow a porn movie to be shown on their campus. I could understand if the university was forcing students to watch the movie, but from what I know the movie was a voluntary thing, if students did not want to watch the movie they could avoid the movie.

3. no reason for it
The students promoting this have proposed that showing this movie is for sexual education purposes but in reality it seems that they just wanted to see if they could get away with it. There is no reason to show a porno in a campus theater and no education involved in showing it aside from maybe filming techniques or something for people who aspire to be porn movie makers. The fact that they are willing to risk funding for the entire school and jeopardize the education of thousands of students to show a fucking porn is just plain stupid. Watch that shit in your dorm, invite your buddies over and discuss sexual education if you want to.

4. Then the question becomes what is porn, and what isn't? Ultimately it becomes

a first amendment issue. It is not only "stupid" to fund a school based on speech issues, but unconstitutional.

Beyond the legal aspects it seems the pinnacle of hypocrisy to make threats like this when schools, even HIGH SCHOOLS are subjected to similar threats and essentially FORCED to allow military recruiters on campus to recruit for an illegitimate war.

5. It's a porn spoof being shown by students in a student funded venue
The college said no, and the students are looking for another venue.

6. I want to use lasers to project a porn movie on the moon's surface...
... so about half the planet can see it.
