"Big government is the problem"
---

How many times have you heard this uttered?

Bigger or smaller is not getting to the heart of the problem.
It's an obvious diversion.
A diversion I believe perpetrated by those wanting less oversight, less regulation, and more control of wealthy corporate interests over our government.

There in lies the problem:
It's not how big government is but who is controlling it.

Hint: It isn't "we the people".

Free access to our airwaves for a diverse group of candidates coupled with publicly funded elections.
Now that is getting to the "heart of the matter".

4. That is code for racism
the problem with "government" is not just that it taxes or that it may diminish earnings the real problem with government for people who say that (whether they realize why they are saying it) is that government's function is to promote and protect equality and safety-- courts serve as a fair hearing place unlike the marketplace to recoup economic damages, fairness in housing, fairness in contracts, and of course "government" has been the lead in desegregation (the military included an equal payscale) and the desegregation of schools.
