How far removed from a problem determines sensitivity to a problem.
Across the ocean ---- not sensitive to murders in Darfur, Congo Sudan. Working ---- not sensitive to unemployed. Out of debt ------ not sensitive to debtors. Rich ----- not sensitive to poor. Non smokers ---- not sensitive to smokers. Demand gun control but don't want to increase the size of or the pay for the police force. The bailout and stimulus programs are like throwing pennies to beggars and billions to the rich. I don't do anything. I am too scared to even speak publicly like I do on this forum. Even on this forum a lot of people don't get that car sales are down because of unemployment. Congress has hearings and does nothing. They are too far removed from reality. I went to the funeral of a very good friend yesterday. Going to a better place was the common theme. "The poor will always be with you". There is no sensitivity for the poor, after all they are going to get it all at a better place.
1. A root cause of indifference to the dripping noise of legal blood money?
War and violence, priority problems that marginalize many other problems that would preferably be ignored. Priority because it immediately involves the biggest one: personal death.
My question is the psychology of killing-at-a-distance. And do we develop it by killing (seemingly) lesser things and then demonetizing people to be able to kill them likewise?
Pay the butcher for the sano packaged cuts of meat leads directly to pay the mercenary for hiding the mass grave from your tv screen while declaiming victory in numbers of causalities?
has there ever been a time in the history of this planet when there was not feast and famine, war and peace, love and hate? The problem is that we are all mere mortals. What is evident in one is inherent in us all. We are all sensitive to what matters to us. And we all look to others to blame.
