5. Greed is blamed for the collapse of the economy, wall street and bankers
making trillions of dollars of bad debt that they made money from. If heavy tax programs were in effect, maybe the losers would have gotten some of the money back.

2. Why not give companies and corporations a choice??
Either give your employees 3% of your profits or the Government will increase your taxes by 3%? Which do you choose?

3. Because greed is wrapped up in a package with a shiny bow and sold
as rugged individualism, a key American value. Biggest scam in the short history of our nation. United States of Flim-Flam.

6. Because it will not work with the current tax code.
The tax law writers/makers have tried to tailor the laws for years to do good things, AKA social engineering. The result is a massive body of rules that just doesn't work. Adding more to it simply makes it worse. The rich game the system legally and nothing can be done. If we start over and build a clean system that is progressive and simple their ability to do that will be gone. It would mean giving up the social engineering aspects of tax policy(other than progressive), but it would be worth it. I am not advocating a flat tax or the Forbes Fair Tax, but a true rewrite.

7. It ain't greed per se, it's a system where greed is rewarded.
People are capable of a wide variety of behaviors, the behavior more likely to be exhibited is that which is rewarded by society. Capitalist society certainly rewards greed, so why should we be surprised?
