Alex Jones responds to the Pittsburgh Police Shooter liking his show
He denounces the violence then says:

"When the police and the military attempt to come for the guns, which they're going to do, it's not going to go well."

He also complained that his views were being conflated with extremists that recruit people with legitimate concerns reflected on his own site and program.

"It's almost like I wake people up and they just get handed over to the nuts," he said.

Mr. Pitcavage(director of investigative research for the ADL) today said Mr. Poplawski's comments bear out a growing concern by extremist-watchers in the wake of the election of President Barack Obama.

"We've been concerned about the possibility of an upsurge in right-wing extremist violence due to two possibilities: the vitriolic reaction of the extreme right to the election of Barack Obama and the severe economic recession that the country is in," he said.

1. Alex Jones is no longer a professional tinfoilhat nutter
He's an amateur compared to the PUMAs and the Birthers.

2. jones is a red-faced nutball who got his bones in the militia movement
he has a very decent sized following and should be considered dangerous. He used legitimate questions re: 9/11 to get a lot of otherwise normal people on board to his revolutionary radio, then dropped the hammer with the gun grabbing dialogue.

3. How delusional do you have to be to convince yourself
that "the PUMA's" (an internet invention if ever there was one) pose more of a danger than someone like Alex Jones.

4. "PUMA" is/was most likely part of the propaganda
campaign that the infamous Karl Rove was waging to divide the Democratic party.

5. I agree, but it didn't work. They are a trivial mini group
confined to the internet of political junkies.Birthers and right wing gun nuts( usually one and the same) are a very real threat.

6. But many around here thought PUMA was real.
Remember, Hillary's supporters came on board for Obama in the end.

7. I don't doubt that, my point is that they're hardly dangerous
and definitely not relevant.

10. I have listened to Jones for about 10 years
and this was not an example of "an upsurge in right-wing extremist violence."

16. "When the police and the military attempt to come for the guns, it's not going to go well"--
praytell, when and where did this happen? This is exactly the kind of irresponsible fictitious paranoid RW bullshit that leads to crimes like this.
