Four juveniles accused of shooting plot appear in court
Four teens accused of plotting to kill a list of students and faculty at their school appeared in court today. (snip)

The two boys and two girls, all ages 13 or 14, are facing two charges each of conspiracy to commit aggravated murder, Marion County Sheriff Russ Isham said.

One of the students on the list, Makhayla Clark, 13, of Turner, was in court with her family Monday. She was told by her middle school principal of the threat that was made against her and a friend, Clark said. She said since the threat was made, she’s been nervous and hasn’t felt safe at school. “I just hope they don’t come back to school,” she said. “I don’t want to see them again.”

The four students will stay in juvenile detention until April 15 and 16 when they will appear in court again. Abernethy said in court an evaluation of whether they can be safely released will be completed in that time.

I expect nothing more than the usual slap on the hand now and
prison within 7 years.

3. Well, that's one of the major reasons for the juvenile justice system...
ideally, juvenile offenders aren't as hardcore as adult offenders are, and so with some early intervention we hopefully won't see them in adult courts.
