2. The one with the sheep is idiotic
We're not "baaaaaack" in Afghanistan thanks to "Obaaaaama," we've been there since attacked on 9/11/01.

3. Agreed, the sheep comic is lousy, but the 9/11 attacked

...by Afghanistan argument is sheepish. Sure, it's causally related, they trained on the Afghan Bases we've built for the goodfornothings we've imported there in the late 70's/80's. Blame Langley, not Afghan farmers. They're the ones eating our shitsandwiches now.

Back when
Hillary wouldn't quit I kept thinking, "Please, lets just get the man elected THEN make his life a living hell".

Support him, but stay on his ass. He's a politician and he works for us. We need to see to it he does his job.

Edited on Tue Apr-07-09 12:04 PM by Hissyspit
Civilians have borne the brunt as casualties in Afghanistan.

I'm really interested in knowing how "Extended in Afghanistan" is stupid. Looks pretty accurate to me.

I agree that the sheep one stinks.

14. if we leave
wouldn't the Taliban just take over and make even more Draconian laws, like legalized-rape, common place?

wouldn't they just open up training camps again? and plot a new 9/11?

wouldn't bin Laden come out of hiding and recruit a new generation and infrastructure for Al Qaeda?

and if you don't believe these things would happen, what do you think would happen if we pulled out 100% of our forces?

at a minimum we should leave a handful of bases there for special forces and other operations, no?

15. you need to brush up
we are the ones who armed the Taliban in the 80s.
its not our job to socially engineer their country. its their job. if they want to change it, let them do it. its none of our business.
bin laden is dead.
the longer we stay there the MORE recruitment al queda will get because we are occupying their country. people dont like it when you occupy their countries and shoot their citizens and set up puppet govts.
the only reason we are there is to secure the oil pipelines.
always follow the money and you will see why we are there. it has nothing to do with terrorism and everything to do with $$$.

18. I don't believe THEY built the camps (we did) and I don't see

...anyone ever claiming that "they plotted 9/11" . eat my shorts man. What a canard.

Bin Laden may not come out, since he's either dead or chronically sick and on the way there. It's common knowledge outside of the US. While his money is still in the terrorist tubes he has been out of the picture pretty much since 02. You know: The kidney, inshalla!

" Al Qaeada" ? What's that man? Who is that?
I think you are confusing things and mixing several local dimwit religious nuts together by using that term.

What would happen if we pulled 100% (why do we americans describe foreign policy in terms of pubescent boys? /-George Carlin) is this: Things would pretty much stay the same, there would probably be allot more weddings with large parties and the puppet gov. in Kabul - those drugrunning sons of bitches who have never done anything worthy in their life except making business with the BushCrimeFamily - would collapse, something probably no Afghan would notice, since they have never had authority outside of Kabul and will never have.

The Iranians are doing a much better job in stabilizing Afghanistan. Leave it to them.
Pay reparations, in coordination with NGO's in order to make sure that it benefits the people, and further I would suggest that all foreign aid payments are delivered only to Afghan women - but that's a rather personal wish.

Anyway, I hope you read this and make sure to listen to " Fall of the American Empire " by State Radio ... It might help. Or else buy a book about Afghanistan or AQ - preferrably by a french author, because they tend cut the bullshit.

If you have a hard time believing me, I suggest you start by downloading the NATO files on Afghanistan - you'll find them on Wikileaks, on P2P networks or mail me and I'll see to it that you get sent a copy of the assessments made by NATO about Afghanistan. If they think the whole thing is BOGUS; well, you should probably too.

28. well none of your suggestions would happen under any scenario
so where does that leave us? (let the Iranians run it?? Really???)

and yes, Mohammad Atta and some of the 9/11 conspirators most certainly did travel to Afghanistan. Atta filmed his fucking martyrdom video there. Or is videograph evidence not good enough for some posters here?

34. so what? The fact that Mohammed Atta was in Afghanistan

SOME TIME before the attacks justifies the war? hmmmm?
Let's attack Florida, then.
Videograph evidence. of what? of him being there? wow. That really justifies killing Afghani farmers.
the question is not if they traveled there. The question is: How does any of the circumstantial involvement of Afghanistan in this story justify bombing the shit out of them?

THe Iranians are running it. Where are you living man? The Iranians are playing in Afghanistan since 02, and they're doing a way better job than we are.
Or do you find the western border region of afghanistan to be that dangerous?
It's the safest fuckin' place in Afghanistan.

Where does that leave us? Exactly were we are now; in an imperial war that is sucking us dry.

And we built the camps. Absolutely, not one fucking doubt about it.
Brezisnki came up with the idea, but no one was crazy enough to pull that shit in an unconventional way, so Carter let him stirr them up a bit, but decided to leave it at that.
Them came Reagan and things got out of control. Everything that was built in that period of time pertaining to terrorist infrastructure is connected to our operations there.
Of course you could say that Saudi money building camps in Afghanistan is not America's fault, but as long as that money is distributed and overseen by big cia (Langley) and little cia (rawalpindi), it is pretty much our beer.

I find the lack of knowledge about the war in Afghanistan shocking.
I think as americans, we have the moral duty to actually know something about this war and its history.
Can't stand the "Atta was in Afghanistan" Propaganda?
We didn't attack germany, although he did some of his planing there.

37. you're all over the place
In one breath you lament that we built terrorist camps there and in the next you imply that Atta was basically just "there" as if he was not being trained to attack American targets at those very camps.

Well which is it? Are there dangerous anti-American terrorist camps there or not? Was Atta at those camps or not?

33. You're Replying In A Delusional Manner.
One could say by your responses that it is you providing such proof.

Even though it's obvious what you're implying, it's a completely asinine 'gotcha' since no matter who I am or what anyone thinks of me, a mere statement of 'ignorance abounds' cannot possibly in and of itself be classified as proof of the poster's ignorance. Your implication of such, and further continuance in implying such, makes you guilty of the crime itself.

Bye now. :hi:

news that we're gonna send in thousands more in Afganistan and we're going to leave a shitload of troops in Iraq (even after the dribbling withdrawal that starts when???).

Nah, we are now the proud successors to the disastrous policies that come from bombing the shit out of two nations that had nothing to do with what happend to thoses two towers in New York City. We're gonna carry on the 'War on Terra' and put the Democratic brand on it.

Maybe we'll get that damn pipeline afterall?
