Redmond O'Neal faces drug charge, arraignment
Redmond O'Neal faces drug charge, arraignment
Published: 4/7/09, 5:25 PM EDT

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Prosecutors charged the son of Ryan O'Neal and Farrah Fawcett on Tuesday with a felony count of bringing drugs to a jail.

It was the latest legal problem for Redmond O'Neal, who was arrested Sunday while out on bail in another case. Sheriff's deputies who stopped O'Neal at a security checkpoint said the 24-year-old was carrying heroin while taking a friend to a Los Angeles area jail.

He remained in custody Tuesday, held on $75,000 bail. His arraignment was postponed until April 24.

Redmond and Ryan O'Neal were arrested last year at the actor's Malibu home after deputies said they found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia during a search. Redmond O'Neal was on probation for a previous drug conviction and has pleaded not guilty in that case.

1. I'll take "People I've never heard of and who have no modern relevance" for $2000, Alex
if you walk into a jail with drugs in pocket you deserve to stay there for a few years

5. but walking into a jail carrying them should be criminally stupid
I am very PRO DRUG LEGALIZATION *cough*.

I'm not even happy with "medical marijuana", not far enough in my book. I think we should all be free to enjoy ourselves without hurting others
