Tuesday's program: http://lauraflanders.firedoglake.com/2009/04/07/rethinking-afghanistan-is-obamas-strategy-a-dead-end/

From the program notes:

"The Obama administration has laid out its strategy for stabilizing and rebuilding Afghanistan: sending an additional 21,000 troops, strengthening the army and police forces, and establishing what Obama calls clear metrics for evaluating progress. Not everyone agrees. Robert Greenwald of Brave New Films says it is a flawed approach and is calling for a US policy that does not rely on military force.

"But Obama is winning support from his liberal base, particularly the Center for American Progress whose recent report, Sustainable Security in Afghanistan, calls for even more troops than Obama has pledged. Organizations and individuals who opposed Bush’s policies in Iraq have voiced their support for Obama's war. Robert Greenwald, Terry Rockefeller of September Eleventh Families for Peaceful Tomorrows, Kathleen Foster director of Afghan Women: A History of Struggle, and Sean Duggan of the Center for American Progress discuss the future role of the US in Afghanistan."

You can find the pro-invasion site on your own.
Greenwald's site: http://rethinkafghanistan.com/
The Peaceful Tomorrows site: http://www.peacefultomorrows.org/
Kathleen Foster's site: http://www.kathleenfoster.com/index.html

And, for those who don't quite grasp the evil done by Brzezinski by importing religious crazies to undermine a comparatively tolerant and naturally evolving society in the name of anti-communism and cause the deaths of millions, here is a picture from Foster's site, from 1978, before the US government, in collaboration with the Saudi Wahabists and Pakistan's ISI, decided that turning it into a killing field and helping to organize, fund and promote murderous religion-based death cults was A Really Good Idea.

1. Great thread. America is in need of real education about Afghanistan.

I'd say this is a good start.

2. Thanks.
There are a lot of false beliefs and assumptions about Afghanistan that are promoted by the Corporatocracy.
