In Case You Missed It...El Rushbo Gets Pwned...
I caught this by accident yesterday...flipping across the dial and I couldn't believe what I was hearing. A caller from Chicago, who claims to be a rushpublican (and sure sounded convincing) took El Rushbo down a couple pegs. The real fun is to hear the fat man slowly burn under having to hear the truth and then go after one of his own. It looks like "Operation: Chaos" is still going on...just not the way Rushbo envisioned it.

1. The amazing thing to me is that ....
... this guy has been on call-in radio for over 20 years, and he's still incapable of engaging in any kind of debate, he's so protected by his call screeners and his ability to cut off the caller's mike. "You don't know diddly squat." That's his argument.

4. To Me It Was Very Telling...
Rushbo doesn't play well with others...even his friends. That's why you rarely see him on television and you'll never see him have to face anyone who isn't either enamoured or intimidated by him . Watching the rushpublicans do a Kabuki dance every time his name is mentioned is proof enough. Rushbo feels he knows all and because he's been so isolated in his bubble for so long, he can't even take criticism or even justify his positions within his own shrinking tent now.

I found it interesting on how he now determines whose a rushpublican...and the nasty shot he took at McCain as well. If the GOOpers keep this up, they'll be in the wilderness a long, long time. If he's the "face" of the party...as well as judge and jury, their slide off the political abyss will continue.

Cheers...

5. I know denial levels are extreme among the ditto heads...
But, this guy, I have little doubt was telling the truth, when he said he'd been in the Marines and the Army. He sounded old enough to have either lived through the era of the Nuremburg trials or at least have heard of them from his parents who did.

I have to wonder if a little glimmer of a clue might not have been lit for those ditto heads listening to this guy--that is among those with any brain function to begin with...

8. Doubtful
If you've put up with the torture, the invasions and now the pillage of the economy and still think all problems eminate from either Bill Clinton's pants or Barack Obama's preacher, there's little to no hope. Hate radio and Rushbo in specific have become refuges for the remnants of the GOOP...a world "post 9/11, but most definite prior to 1/20/09"...one of full denial and anger.

I give this caller a lot of credit for playing the games to get on the show. He probably sat on hold for a long time and then had to work his way past the screeners...all to utter some rare moments of clarity. For anyone outside of the Rushbo/hate radio bubbleworld, it's extremely telling of how far he and his ilk have fallen.

9. I'm Far From "Hip"
Just ask my kids

At my age...when I hear hip...it usually goes with the word "replacement".

It's a better way of saying "bitchslapped"...

12. Its a misspelling of 'owned'.
Like many internet memes it probably started over on one of the chanology sites. I'm guessing somebody was typing to fast and it was found amusing and propagated.

"Pwned" = "Owned" = "you just got served" = "you have just been publically shown to be lacking in any measure of skill in a particularly embarrassing fashion".

13. Caller is Absolutely Right
I know quite a few moderate Republicants who are totally turned off by the likes of Rush, Beck, Hannity, et. al. These talking heads have driven many main stream conservatives out of the party with their purity tests and lock-step tactics (and that should be a lesson for us here on the left as well). Here's a caller who voted for McCain, served in the Marines, says he's a conservative but still seems to know that torture is wrong. That the "conservatism" preached by the neocon talking heads is wrong.

Even Republican politicians are starting to try and distance themselves from these guys, and that's telling.

14. Republican politicians are starting to distance themselves from Rush?
First I've heard of it. Last I knew, they were all bending to kiss his ring and/or apologizing after calling him out for his lunacies.

21. Much the same as they did with Bush in the election
Its not so much about calling out the talking heads as it is ignoring them. They realized that running on the same neocon politics that Bush-n-friends beat us up with for eight years was the best way to lose an election. Few, if any Republican congress critters were calling up buddy Bush for an endoresment. I think we're seeing the same thing with Republicant politicians. They used to seek out these Rush endoresments. Not really seeing that anymore.

I know my moderate conservative friends are not a good sampling, but very few of them want to be lumped onto the same team as Rush, Hannity, Beck and Coulter.

collapsed like a cheap beach umbrella when confronted by a veteran who actually loves America and is trying to make it better.

So it goes for the Republicon Homelander Chickenhawks, and their 'hero' rush limbaugh, in their pathetic crusade to cause America to fail

23. I heard a similar call last night..
I had AM radio on last night, coming home from work. I think it was the Mark Levine program but there was a substitute host. He was ranting and raving about how Obama hated America and everybody knew that Mrs Obama hated America, even after America had paid for her education. He was outraged at the comments that President Obama said in front of a foreign audience. Then he took a phone call that did not agree with his portrayal of the events. The caller stated that President Obama did not hate America. The left did not hate America. They simply disagreed with the last Administration and the way they did business. When the substitute host saw that he could not win the argument, he had a long audio of Reverend Wright which he played while he put the caller on hold. The caller never came back for a response and the host went to a commercial. This is getting bad folks.
