http://ourgossipbites.com/blog9/2009/04/09/foxs-newest-reality-show-takes-insensitive-to-new-heights/

The Fox network is making a reality show out of the troubled economy. An upcoming series titled, “Someone’s Gotta Go,” lets employees of a small business decide which one of their colleagues will be laid off.

Anyone else think this is just god awful??????????? I can't even imagine.

3. Yes, it was posted earlier somewhere
And I say, the first person who gets canned should sue the bejeebers out of the employer or the network.

This is an outrageous gambling of livelihoods just to make some cheap entertainment.

7. I do not know how anyone with a conscience could work on such a thing
It's so wrong. For whatever reason, it has really upset me.

I can't stop thinking about how humiliating that will be.
To be layed off, and then to watch on TV what your co-workers were saying about you.
As if being layed off wasnt enough.

6. Ron Reagan was discussing this with a guest today.
I cannot recall the woman's name, but he spent a considerable time on it.

He wasn't to enamored of the idea, and neither am I.

What passes for entertainment any more is just beyond the pale.

8. That's IT Seattle!! You nailed it. What passes for entertainment!!
I think that aside from how cruel and sick it is, I am stunned- STUNNED- that people are willing to make a joke of it.
The people that bring us Big Brother & Deal or no Deal? Ugh.

10. It's ghoulish.
How many here would like to be filmed while losing your job? A thousand things run across your mind when you find out you're jobless. How anyone could pass this off as some form of entertainment is beyond comprehension. It seems to be there are a lot of people, mainly of the conservative persuasion who seem disdainful towards those who have lost their jobs and/or their houses. Their attitude is, 'Fuck 'em'. I'm sure they'll break out the Cheetos and Mt. Dew for this one. I can only hope karma is a fair bitch when it comes to people like this.

11. At the end of Shawn of the Dead
The common people, treated as not living by certain groups, are put on tv shows to be entertainment while humiliated. Some people find humiliating others as the same as making themselves look better. Its not just this show, look at Jerry Springer, or many shows where people for a few dollars will eat horrible things or do terrible things.

Its a common event from a certain frame of thought of a certain group. Maybe its just meant to remove peoples feelings of dignity, but so many shows are so bad.

The one reality show I really liked (excluding the prison episode) was 'Who Wants To Be A Superhero' by Scifi/Lee. It stuck to the themes of honor and dignity.
