Thousands demonstrating in Georgia

<snip>
The BBC's Tom Esslemont in Tbilisi says opposition leaders have deliberately chosen this poignant date for their demonstrations.

They have appealed to the government not to use violence to break up mass protests.

Thousands of people are expected to join rallies calling on President Saakashvili to stand down.

Protesters say he provoked the war with Russia last year and that there is "no democracy" in the country.

Police used rubber bullets and tear gas to break up the last mass protests in the capital, Tbilisi, in November 2007.

Meanwhile President Mikhail Saakashvili called on Georgians to show unity and "work day and night... to finally liberate our Georgia".
---------------
Just watched the demonstrations on BBC International. Clearly no one listened to Saakasgvilli since the report says thousands have gathered calling on him to resign. Expect this to get ugly today.

1. John McCain probably thinks those are terrorists.
Or at least he did side with the Georgian government in its war with Russia.

Why do I remember that name? Like a bad pimple, I guess you don't forget those things.

Looks like the "luck of the boooshies" is doing its magic in Georgia like it did in Spain and other "coalition of the willing" participants.

Here's hoping this goon doesn't turn the guns on his own people...surely he's getting that advice from cheney.

7. Of course they're "terrorists":

They're (democratically) opposing a neocon-friendly government in a place that's strategically important to big-oil/gas 'Western' corporate interests.

Ipso facto. Ergo.

Edit to add: This is the (democratic) opposition that you most likely didn't hear one word from or about in your MSM during the little 'confrontation' last August. Hmmm. I wonder why not?
